❓ FAQ

Packing for Banff — common questions

How cold is Banff in summer?+

Summer days are pleasant (15–25°C) but mornings, evenings and high trails are much cooler. Pack layers and a warm top even in July.

Do I need bear spray in Banff?+

On backcountry trails, yes — it's strongly recommended. Buy it locally (you can't fly with it), know how to use it, and make noise on the trail.
